Theravada Tipitaka Press
is a small independent non-profit book publishing company which focuses on early
Buddhist Pāli literature.
Our main interest are texts which focus on research into Buddhist meditation
practice (samathā and vipassanā). At the same time we try to provide better
tools for the study of Pāli and thus help others in gaining a deeper
understanding of the original word of the Buddha.
Our main concern is twofold: We believe that a broader and deeper understanding
of the message of the Buddha can only come about if that message is available -
not necessarily in quantity but foremost in quality. You will not find many
books in our catalog. But the ones you find were hand-picked. Secondly we
especially encourage authors who have personal meditation experience combined
with enough compassion and and patience to share their understanding of early
Buddhist Dhamma and Bhāvanā.
Being a non-profit operation all our proceeds benefit the efforts of the Nibbana
Meditation Association which propagates the teaching of meditation in the
tradition of the most Venerable Meditation Master Sri Matara Nyanarama
Mahatthera, head of the Sri Lankan forest hermitage Nissarana Vanaya in
